Tucson

Tucson in mid-February may sound like a destination for sun and warm weather hiking, but a trip to Tucson is definitely work! This year I am going for 2 weeks, and I am driving so I can fill my car with geodes and turquoise and fossils and agates and strands of gems from all over the world.

The Tucson Gem and mineral show is a trade show that encompasses different aspects of the Gem and Jewelry business. Some exhibitors require that you are a wholesaler with a badge, and some exhibitors are in parking lots and will sell to anyone. I go for the contacts, the inspiration and the inventory. I also will explore the hiking, the home prices, and the tacos.

I’ll also visit my brother in Scottsdale.
