I love my vocation

Tonight I celebrate 5 years of Cowgirl Cash in downtown Bend. As I was running errands for tonights party I was reminiscing a little bit, and thinking about what I would do if I didn't buy and sell in a back alley Western Vintage secondhand shop. I came to the conclusion that I love what I do, and here are the top 10 reasons.

1. My customers range from 4-84. They are male and female, and they live in places ranging from NYC to Eastern Oregon ranches.

2. When I pay my bills each month, a majority of the checks I write are directly to artists, people I buy my treasures from, and business owners . No middleman, no distributor, no factory.

3. I get to bring Clyde to work.

4. I get to set my own hours, and hire my own staff, and work with talented tradespeople that I consider co-workers.

5. I get to host a party every month and work with my family at the same time.

6. I get to choose what meets my buying criteria..Authentic, Practical, Beautiful.

7. I am part of one of the most dynamic downtown shopping areas in the country according to my customers.

8. I know some of our communities homeless people by name. (that's also on the "other" list)

9. My business is easy on Mother Earth

10. It's never boring and I don't have a boss!
