Gold!

A lot of people are sitting on a pile of money and they may not even know it! Gold sometimes looks like a pile of rubbish, but the pile is made of broken necklaces, ugly rings, and lost earring mates.

Gold is currently trading at over $2,000 an ounce. To put it in perspective, silver is trading at $25 an ounce and when I first learned how to buy gold in the early 1990’s when I was working in the Jewelers building in Boston, gold was $362 an ounce.

Measuring and buying gold is not that clear cut. Just because your pile is sizable doesn’t mean you’ll get a check for $2,000. Different karats of gold have different amounts of other metals alloyed with them. 10kt gold has more alloy and less pure gold than 18kt gold. Some of the shiny things in your pile may not be gold at all. Plated jewelry has no gold value, and the weight of that tooth with the gold filling needs to be subtracted.

The best pile of gold is often found in inherited jewelry boxes, filled with jewelry that no one in the family wants or will wear. Cowgirl Cash provides a “Jewelry evaluation service”. I will take my years of jewelry experience and my graduate gemologist degree and go to work examining and testing each piece for value. This service costs $100, but you will likely come out way ahead because Cowgirl Cash will either buy unwanted pieces for resale or for scrap value.

Make this Christmas extra Merry and cash in on the current high price of gold.
