Cowgirls

cowgirlsbrand2.jpg

I consider myself a Cowgirl. Do I have a horse and live on a ranch? No. Do I aspire to? Not really. I know what it takes to live that life. I’m too comfortable wearing boots in town and riding my bike to work after feeding my three hens and watering my flowers. I don’t have to rush home to take care of animals, I can meet my guy for a beer and dinner….

I recently came across these photos on a camera.

I had stopped after a solo trip to Summer Lake and took these shots. It’s a local ranching family branding cattle. The grand mama of the family came over and asked if I wanted to join them around their warming fire. I declined, but continued to shoot. These photos really capture the family, the fun, the skill, the beauty, the generational knowledge that gets passed down. and the work!

I’m so happy I found them and happy to have this platform to share.

Enjoy. and remember if you desire wide open spaces like this, and need a little slice of heaven to keep your horse and raise your own organic free range side of beef, I can help you find one!
