Winter Break

It's the start of my 4th year in business as the owner of Cowgirl Cash. 2012 was a good year. My sales were up, my buying skills are improving, and shoppers are finding me in the Bend's back alley. I love this business and the opportunities it gives me to buy interesting items, give to causes and charities I admire, and the flexibility to create my dream job.  When I first opened 4 years ago, I took a friends suggestion to only open Wednesday thru Saturday. It was a nice way to ease into retail and allow time for outside buying.  Eventually I moved to 7 days a week, when the tourists started to show up to enjoy the sun and fun in Bend, OR. But, I keep coming back to Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, weeks in the winter.  Call it winter hours, call it hibernation, call it ski season.  It's what I do at Cowgirl Cash. It feels balanced, practical, and restorative.
